BOOTCAMP TRAINING FOR OBEDIENCE/BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION
Loyal Canines Bootcamps require that you board your dog at one of our campus locations. Your dog will work with one of our dog trainers daily on learning exercises and drills designed specifically to help him or her reach the goals you specifically set forth during your initial meeting and evaluation. The average number of weeks required for participation is four to six weeks, although it is those goals and the temperament of your dog that influence and determine the time period required for successful completion of your dog’s training.

Mastering Dog Training Commands –Your Role as an Owner-Handler

Programs
3-4 week obedience program
Our trainers will perform all of the foundation work for you with precision timing and consistency, which will result in your dog learning at an accelerated pace, faster than he or she will in any other program. Unlike in a traditional obedience class, or even at an average board and train program, this 3-4-week intensive obedience training program is designed to put the necessary foundation in place so that your dog can generalize all obedience commands in any environment, both on-leash and off-leash.
At the conclusion of the program, you will be able to walk with your dog off-leash, regardless of distractions, and be able to recall your dog in any environment. Your dog will always be able to understand what behaviors are expected of him or her. All distractions are provided at our facilities, and we gradually add higher stimulating distractions daily. All behaviors are proofed and consistently tested under real life dog-to-dog and dog-to-people scenarios so that the dog knows how to behave and can be controlled in any stimulating environment with distractions. (Your dogs’ temperament and goals will determine the length of time)
3-4 Week Bootcamp Curriculum:
- “Sit and “Extended Sit”
- “Down and “Extended Down”
- “Heel”
- “Loose leash walking” (Your dog will walk beside you on a loose leash and will adjust to your pace, speed and change of directions with you without any tension on the leash.)
- “Drop it” or “Leave it” (drop anything that is in their mouth)
- “Come when called” (Your dog will stop what they are doing and immediately come when called.)
- “Place” (go to a place, or go to their dog bed, stay and do not move until released from that position).
Advanced off-leash obedience control:
2 WEEK OBEDIENCE PROGRAM
Bootcamp: Paws for Nuts & Bolts
Dogs in the Nuts and Bolts program remain at the Academy for its duration, lodging off-campus, but participate in their training and socializing activities during the day at the Academy facility, where there are over 30+ dogs daily from across the North Shore of Massachusetts.
Behavior Modification Bootcamp for Specific Issues - 3 Week Course
Whether your dog has aggression toward other dogs or people, or has high anxiety or fear, this program is specifically designed to modify its behavior so that it can overcome those issues and you can properly and successfully manage your dog’s obedience going forward both at home and in public. Our Behavior Modification Bootcamp is unlike any other board and train option available as it takes place where 30+ dogs, of all ages and varying temperaments, attend our popular Daycamp program, and we employ a large staff. Dogs acquire extensive environmental exposure to situations that may trigger their behavior, thus allowing us to address and correct it.
Owner/Handler participation for your dog’s Behavior Modification issues is highly recommended. It is critically important for you to learn how to motivate and control all of your dog’s positive behaviors. Your dog’s trainer will coach you on the way to better manage your dog based upon the initial problem behavior and the methods introduced to correct the issue and continually manage it in the long-term during weekly meetings while your dog is at the facility. And during the meetings, your dog’s trainer provides you with a complete review of what your dog has learned that week so that you will have a better understanding of the rate of progress and expectations for being successful when your dog returns to your daily life. Meeting with your trainer is by scheduled appointment at the Academy and if needed can be arranged as a video by appointment if you live outside of the North Shore of Massachusetts.
3-4 Week Behavior Modification Program
This program is geared towards those dogs with the highest level of aggression, anxiety or fear. Whether it is aggression towards other dogs, people, high anxiety or fear, this program is specifically designed to help your dog overcome issues and achieve your desired results so you can manage your dog’s behavior successfully in your home and in public. We will incorporate obedience training and confidence building exercises to help your dog reach his or her full potential! Because your dog is trained consistently by our professional trainers on a daily basis, this will result in your dog learning at an accelerated pace, much faster than he or she can in any other type of dog training program. Each day we will be working with your dog one-on-one.
One of the factors that sets our Boot Camp programs apart from other board and train in MA programs is that they take place at our facility where 30+ other dogs to attend Canine Camp. Your dog will participate in our supervised play groups, which plays a pivotal role in creating opportunities for socialization and exercise. Your dog will be consistently trained and tested under real-life dog-to-dog and dog-to-people scenarios so that he or she knows how to behave and can be controlled in any stimulating environment, with distractions.
